Custom Miniature Thai Shrine
This project demonstrates how 3D technology can solve unique product sourcing challenges. By reverse-engineering a single reference photograph, I sculpted a highly detailed digital model that respects traditional Southeast Asian architectural motifs. 3D printed in silk gold polymer, the final piece beautifully mimics the gilded look of real sanctuaries—making it an ideal high-end ornament for desks or vehicle dashboards.
Customer Need
A client wanted a custom, miniature Thai spirit house (San Phra Phum) to display a small Four-Faced Buddha statue. Because off-the-shelf options did not exist at this micro-scale, they provided a reference photo for a custom fabrication solution.
Work Scope
Image-to-3D Modeling: Translated the 2D photo into a digital 3D model, capturing intricate traditional roof carvings and column details. Print Optimization: Refined the geometry for clean 3D printing without losing fine architectural textures. 3D Printing: Manufactured the final piece using high-precision FDM printing with a premium silk gold filament for an instant metallic finish.
